THE UNIVERSITY of Limerick is to open a book of condolences following the death of a garda who was studying with the university.
Garda Niall Cosgrave, Ballinacurra Gardens, was a second year student on the UL BA in Applied Policing and Criminal Justice.
Garda Cosgrave, late of Galway, is survived by his parents James and Marion, sister Elaine, her husband Ronan, partner Sarah and his children Andrew, Alison, Ella and Jack.
A book of condolences for students and staff will open at UL on Monday October 22 in the reception area of the Student Life Centre .
Reposing at Monaghan's Funeral Home, Lebane in Co. Galway, on Sunday from 4pm to 6pm, and at Cross's Funeral Home on Monday October 22 from 5.00pm.
Removal at 6.30pm to St. John's Cathedral.
A requiem Mass will take place on Tuesday October 23 at 11.00am with burial afterwards to Castlemungret Cemetery.
