A COUNTY Limerick community is “absolutely numb” following the unexpected death of a teenage girl.

18-year-old Jessica Sheedy from Bruff passed away unexpectedly on Friday at University Hospital Limerick.

Jessica lived in Caherguillamore, Bruff and is very deeply regretted by her heartbroken parents James and Ann, brother Adam, grandfather Joe, her boyfriend Jason, uncles, aunts, cousins, relatives, kind neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Local councillor Bill O’Donnell said: “There is a lot of shock in the community – the community is absolutely numb. It has been the talk of both Bruff, where the family live and the surrounding Dromin-Athlacca and Bruree area where the parents are from, people are absolutely numb and deeply saddened.

“The community is reeling. Everyone you bump into the street is the same. The community is very close, it is a tight little community around here.

“I went to school with Jimmy and his brother in Athlacca. They are very well known and very nice people, lovely people – a lovely family.

“Everone is just shocked. They are absolutely lovely people, a lovely family, lovely neighbours,” he added.

Jessica will repose this Monday evening from 6pm at Daffy's Funeral Home, Kilmallock, until 8pm, with funeral to arrive on Tuesday for 12 noon requiem Mass at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Dromin. Burial afterwards in the local cemetery. House private.
