LIMERICK company DesignPro Automation won a national award at the recent Irish leg of the European Business Awards.

The Rathkeale-based company was named ‘Business of the Year with a Turnover of €0-25m’, at the event.

In an exclusive ceremony held at the British Ambassador's Residence in Dublin, 11 Irish organisations were selected out of a list of 77 companies to represent Ireland in the upcoming European Business Awards.

“We’re thrilled to have won the award. It's always great to receive recognition for your hard work from your peers but to receive it on a European platform makes it all the more special,” said Roisin McCormack, DesignPro.

Established in 2004 by Managing Director Paul Collins, DesignPro has continued to expand and develop since it’s relocation Rathkeale Industrial Estate.

In 2017 the organisation secured €1.9 million in European Funding for its innovative Horizon 2020 River Turbine Project and more recently celebrated a 2 year successful strategic partnerships with one of the world’s leading robotics manufacturers, KUKA.

The overall winners will be announced at the European Business Awards Gala final in Warsaw, Poland this May.
