A LIMERICK family is to fly off to Lapland after winning the holiday of a lifetime this Christmas.

The Balina family from William Street in the city won the €4,000 trip in a Parkway Retail Park competition, in association with Sunway Holidays.

Anita Balina entered the Find the Elf competition in Parkway Retail Park and was selected to take part in the grand final event with five other families last Sunday.

After taking part in a Crystal Maze-style finale to see how many snowballs she could catch while locked inside the giant Parkway Retail Park vortex, Anita and her family are flying out to Lapland for a once in a lifetime visit to Santa Claus.

The Balina family will visit Santa’s Lapland village and post office where they can meet Santa Claus and Rudolph, as well as enjoying a husky sleigh ride and snowmobile adventure.

“The Find the Elf competition was a great opportunity for families to start the Christmas season together,” said Freda O’Donnell, of Sigma Retail Partners, asset managers for Parkway Retail Park.

“This was truly a once in a lifetime prize and we are delighted to have worked with Sunway Holidays to make the Balina family’s Christmas dreams come true.”
