UPDATE: Limerick to Dublin motorway open again following car fire

Car fire closes part of Limerick to Dublin motorway

A Section of the M7 motorway, which was closed following a car fire has reopened.

The southbound carrigeway was closed for over an hour between J27 (Birdhill) and J26 (Nenagh West) with diversions in place.

The fire broke out at around 4.30pm and there are no reports of any injuries. The cause of the fire us unknown.

Gardai and units of the fire service from Newport and Nenagh attended the scene.
