Number on trolleys at UHL hits 50

There are 50 patients on trolleys at UHL according to the INMO

FIFTY patients are waiting to be admitted to University Hospital Limerick, according to the latest Trolley Watch figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO).

According to the INMO, 26 people are currently on trolleys in the Emergency Department while a further 24 are waiting in wards at the hospital.

Almost 540 patients are waiting for beds at hospital across the country.

While 50 is the highest daily figure so far this year, the emergency department at UHL is still not the worst in the country in terms of overcrowding.

There are currently 58 patients on trolleys at Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital while there are 46 at St Vincents University Hospital.
