EMERGENCY services were called to a blaze at Stryker's Raheen facility this Tuesday morning.
Black plumes of smoke could be seen billowing into the sky. A video of the fire has been widely shared on social media.
In response to a query from Limerick Live, a company spokesperson said: “Stryker can confirm that a fire occurred at our Limerick facility this morning, which was quickly contained.
"All employees were safely evacuated as per our safety procedures, and our local emergency services were notified and attended the facility. Employees returned to site this afternoon following a safety assessment."
They concluded: "We’re committed to a safe and healthy work environment at all of our facilities. A full internal review is underway to determine the cause of the fire.”
Limerick Fire and Rescue Service received the call about a fire in the roof of the building at 11:26am this Tuesday, October 22.

One unit from Rathkeale attended the blaze, alongside five appliances from Limerick city.
The units returned to base at approximately 1:40pm.
Stryker Corporation is an American multinational medical technologies corporation based in Michigan.
The company offers products and services in a wide range of medical fields, including MedSurg, neurotechnology, orthopaedics and spinal.
The Limerick site opened in 1972 and was acquired by Stryker in 1998. The facility is 129,000 square foot and specialises in the production of devices for joint replacements, CMF, Spine and T&E.
