Limerick software firm makes Canadian acquisition

Jimmy Martin, the founder of AMCS in Limerick

LIMERICK environmental software firm AMCS has acquired a Canadian technology company.

AMCS, which is based at Ballysimon Road on the edge of the city, has bought Figbytes, another software firm, based in the Canadian city of Quebec.

Headed by Jimmy Martin, AMCS exists to help its clients improve operational efficiencies, increase the expansion of margins, reduce their risk, improve their customer experience and deliver environmental sustainability.

FigBytes's platform captures operational and supplier data in one central, secure location in the 'cloud', which is a network of secure computer systems located around the world.

It's hoped the sale will enable AMCS to better serve its clients around the world.

"Our mission is to create an environmentally sustainable future for our clients and their families, and we are excited to have FigBytes join us in these efforts," said Mr Martin, "This acquisition underscores our mission to provide integrated, secure, and future-proof environmental software solutions that help clients across the globe accelerate their growth and sustainability."

Ted Dhillon of Figbytes said: "The combination of FigBytes’ award-winning sustainability and the AMCS suite of environmental software solutions provides organisations with a unique, compelling offering and one of the clearest digital pathways to a more sustainable future while enabling them to comply with environmental, social and governmental regulations around the world. I’m incredibly confident that our alignment with AMCS will unlock tremendous opportunities for organizations to make an even greater positive change for people and the planet."
