€120k of cannabis seized at Shannon Airport

An investigation into the Switzerland-flown cannabis seizure is ongoing

SIX KILOGRAMS of herbal cannabis was seized at Shannon Airport, worth an estimated of €120k.

On Friday, October 13, Revenue officers seized 6kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €120,000 at the aiport.

The illicit drugs were discovered in two separate parcels originating from Switzerland, and were destined for an address in Waterford.

The seizure was made as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dog, Harley. Investigations are ongoing.

This seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing operations targeting the importation of illegal drugs.
