GARDAÍ in Limerick are investigating an assault which occurred in a populated area of Limerick just hours after the All-Ireland hurling final.
According to a garda spokesperson: “Gardaí are investigating an assault that occurred on Monday 24 July 2023 at approximately 12.25am on Denmark Street, Limerick city.”
Reportedly, the injured was allegedly assaulted with a golf club, while out celebrating Limerick's momentous four-in-a-row win.
It has been confirmed by gardaí, that as a result, a man in his 30s was taken to University Hospital Limerick. It is understood that his injuries are “non-life threatening.”
The spokesperson continued: “No arrests have been made at this time.” It has also been stated by the gardaí that “investigations are ongoing.”
