Public feedback sought on future of Arthurs Quay

The Arthurs Quay area earmarked for redevelopment

Limerick City and County Council want your views on the future of Arthurs Quay.

The council, in collaboration with Metropolitan Workshop, is developing a Framework Plan for the Arthurs Quay area of Limerick city which will set out the guidelines for a comprehensive, plan-led and place-based approach to the redevelopment of the area and lead to the transformation of the city centre.

They are inviting the public to have their say on the matter at the Citizen Innovation Lab on Sarsfield Street (former Dunnes Stores) this Friday, from 12pm - 7pm.

Building on the Limerick Development Plan 2022-2028 and the Limerick 2030 plan, the Arthur’s Quay Framework will advance the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund (URDF) funded World Class Waterfront project.

The council and Metropolitan Workshop are exploring how to make a key part of the city centre a more attractive, appealing and better functioning place for all users.

“Your views and experience help us understand what makes this part of the city great and as it develops, how it can be improved,” the council said in a statement.

“The display exhibition provides background information on the framework, a snapshot of the analysis completed to date and the opportunity to contribute your views and feedback.”

Vincent Murray, Director of Planning, Environment and Place-Making with Limerick City and County Council said: “We are excited to have this opportunity to get the public involved and share their views on the future of what is a really important part of the city centre”.

An online survey is available to be completed on the project website until July 30.
