IT'S TIME to get the factor 50 at the ready, as Limerick looks set to sizzle under temperatures of up to 24 degrees over the coming days.
Well known forecaster, Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather is predicting that the mercury could rise to the mid-20’s this Thursday and Friday.
This will be the hottest spell the country has seen so far this year, as Carlow Weather tweeted: “Up to 22 degrees tomorrow (Thursday) and possibly 23 or even 24 locally on Friday and Saturday. Enjoy the fine spell and stay safe around water.”

Meanwhile, according to Met Eireann, temperatures above 20 degrees can be expected in Limerick from this Thursday right through to Saturday evening.
Dry weather with “long spells of sunshine” will be developing from Thursday, May 25 and will carry right through to the weekend.
While many Munster Rugby supporters will be enjoying the balmy conditions in Cape Town, South Africa, hurling supporters can expect dry conditions and “good sunny spells at times”.
However, as of now, some cloudier conditions are being forecast for Sunday afternoon and evening - when a capacity crowd is expected at TUS Gaelic Grounds for the Limerick versus Cork Munster SCH clash.
