LIMERICK senior football selector Evan Talty was part of the St Brigid's backroom team last weekend that won the Connacht Senior Football Championship. St Brigid's just did enough to defeat Maigh Cuilinn 1-16 to 1-14 last Sunday in Dr Hyde Park.

The Roscommon champions have now lifted the Connacht Senior Football Championship on six occasions. Former Galway senior hurling manager Anthony Cunningham was in charge of St Brigid's, while Talty was a key part of his management team.

St Brigid's have plenty of inter-county experience in their squad which includes Brian Stack, Ruaidhri Fallon, Eddie Nolan, Shane Cunnane, Conor Hand and Ben O'Carroll. After Christmas, the Kiltoom club will meet Scotstown or Kilcoo in the All-Ireland semi-final.

Talty has completed a Masters in Applied Sports Coaching at the University of Limerick and made quite a name for himself on the coaching circuit in recent years.

A former Clare Ladies Football manager, Talty has also been involved with the senior Galway and Dublin LGFA teams.
In 2024, Talty was coach to the Roscommon side that won the Connacht U20 Football Championship.

Jimmy Lee added the Clare native to his backroom team in 2025 and he went on to enjoy a successful season with the Limerick senior footballers. The Shannonsiders won the Division Four Allianz Football League and went on to reach the Tailteann Cup final where they were narrowly defeated by Kildare.
