MUNGRET ST PAUL'S footballer Killian Ryan is hoping that the club can build on their county final success in the years to come.
“This is the start for this club is what we will hope, we want to get better and better. We want this club to take over if possible, every other team in the county are going to want to drag us down. It's our job to keep pushing hard,” Killian Ryan told Leader Sport.
Ryan has enjoyed a successful year between club and county this year. He was part of the Limerick team that reached the Tailteann Cup final earlier this year.
The Mungret St Paul's wing forward chipped in with a crucial point in their four-point victory over Newcastle which sealed the city club's first ever SFC title.
“It's hard to explain we were here two years ago when we won the intermediate final in Askeaton.
“It's been a building team, we've got to experience once with this and to come on and win a senior title, it just shows what this club is doing and how it's developing both on and off the pitch.”

Mungret St Paul's rise has been incredible in the last three years since winning the county intermediate title in 2023, reaching a senior county semi-final in 2024 and now lifting the Fr Casey Cup this year.
“The rise has been incredible, like all good teams you get one good golden generation together and what we have one is a group of lads all went to the same school.
“They grew up together, they're best friends, they're going to college together, they're the lads that have come and driven up the likes of myself and Brendan Giltenane, some of the older boys.
“They're the ones that have earned it and hopefully we will try go on and win a few more.”
He went on to pay tribute to the roles of Kevin O'Hagan and Pa Ranahan's in the county final success.
“There's no words that can really describe Kevin O'Hagan, I'm exceptionally proud of him and the whole O'Hagan family. It's a really a dynasty here that they have brought on.”
“Pa Ranahan is an exceptional football man and also a very decent human being and we are glad to have him around the young lads as a role model.”
Mungret St Paul's face Dingle in the Munster SFC semi-final on Sunday November 23 at a Kerry venue. Ryan is looking forward to the challenge.
“This time we want to go and prove ourselves against opposition from outside the county and see what we can do for Limerick.”
