THE LIMERICK minor hurling management team has been announced ahead of the 2026 season. In October, Diarmuid Mullins was announced as the new Limerick minor hurling manager.

Donal O'Grady has stepped down as Limerick minor after a year in charge. Mullins has decided to keep O'Grady's backroom team in place for the 2026 season. There are currently 44 players on the Limerick minor hurling training squad and the championship squad will be finalised in January.

Brian Sexton, Ger Kelleher, Jody Hannon, Tom Murphy and Liam Reale will all be part of the Limerick minor hurling management for the second year in-a-row.

Sexton was coaching the Newcastle West senior hurling team this year and he was also part of the Bruree team that reached the Limerick Intermediate Hurling Championship final.

Ger Kelleher has previously managed his own club Dromin-Athlacca. Offaly native Tom Murphy has been part of the Doon senior hurling management team under Derek McGrath. Murphy previously managed the Doon senior hurling team in 2018.

Jody Hannon is the brother of former Limerick senior hurling captain Declan Hannon. He lined out for the Adare senior hurling team during the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship this year.

Liam Reale was involved with the Castletroy College Harty Cup team last year. The Hospital/Herbertstown clubman carries out the role of strenght and conditioning coach this year with the Limerick minor hurlers.

Murphy, Sexton, Kelleher, and Hannon will serve as selectors for the Limerick minor hurling team.

Mullins has previously worked as Limerick minor hurling manager and U20 hurling manager. The Mungret St Paul's clubman won Munster titles in 2019 and 2020 with the Limerick minor hurlers.

After managing the Limerick minor hurlers for two seasons in 2019 and 2020, he moved up to take charge of the county’s U20 team. The former Laois footballer managed the U20s from 2021 to 2023, leading Limerick to the 2022 All-Ireland U20 final, where they were narrowly beaten by Kilkenny.

After the 2023 season Diarmuid Mullins stepped down as Limerick U20 hurling manager.

The Shannonsiders finished in fourth place in the Munster minor hurling championship round-robin series this year. Limerick then advanced to the All-Ireland preliminary quarter-final where they recorded a victory over Wexford. Waterford defeated Limerick in the All-Ireland MHC quarter-final 1-20 to 0-14.
