ROUND FOUR of the Irish Wire Products Limerick senior football championship takes place later this week. There are six games down for decision across Groups 1 and 2 on Thursday and Saturday.
In group one of the Limerick SFC, Monaleen face Oola this Thursday evening in Rhebogue at 8:30pm in what is a crucial fixture for both clubs. The Castletroy club have suffered a setback losing Limerick senior footballer Darragh Murray to injury for the remainder of the SFC.
Monaleen are in second place on four points with Oola just behind them on three points. A win for Monaleen will secure their place in knockout football.
Group one table toppers Adare face bottom of the table Na Piarsaigh in Clarina on Saturday at 4pm. The County champions remain unbeaten after winning their opening three games and Harry Gleeson's charges have already booked their place into the knockout stages of the SFC. Na Piarsaigh are yet to win a game in group one of the irish Wire Products Limerick senior football championship.

2024 county finalists Fr Casey's meet Rathkeale in Feohanagh Castlemahon GAA Club, Coolyroe on Saturday at 4pm.
Fr Casey's are in fourth place on three points and Rathkeale are behind them in fifth place on two points. Casey's' will look to get one step closer to booking their place int the quarter-finals.
In Group two, St Kieran's know a victory over Kildimo-Pallaskenry on Saturday at 2pm in Askeaton will secure their place into knockout football. After a win and two losses Kildimo-Pallaskenry will be aiming to get things back on track this weekend.
Mungret St Paul's take on Ballylanders on Saturday afternoon in Bruff at 2pm. Kevin O'Hagan's charges know a win for them and wins for Newcastle West and St Kieran's will seal their place into the quarter-finals of the SFC.
The final game of the weekend sees the clash of Newcastle West and Galtee Gaels in Kilmallock at 5pm. Newcastle West and St Kieran's sit joint on the top of the table on five points. The Magpies have been boosted by the return of former Limerick footballer Cian Sheehan from Australia.
After this weekend, the final round of fixtures in round five of the Limerick SFC will then place on the weekend of October 11/12.
Last Wednesday evening, Mungret St Paul's edged past Oola in the Limerick Premier minor football final winning out on a final scoreline of 1-10 to 1-8.Limerick minor hurler Killian Begley and Conor Ó Longaigh kicked 0-7 between them for the city outfit. Limerick goalkeeper Josh Ryan was involved in the Oola backroom team.
Meanwhile, in the Limerick Intermediate Football Championship, Galbally and Askeaton Ballysteen Kilcornan look like the teams to beat in the IFC sitting on six points after three games. Both sides remain unbeaten after winning their opening three games in group one and two in the IFC.
