They remain the only two sides yet to pay a game in group two, a group consisting of early front-runners Kildimo-Pallaskenry and Newcastle West, who both recorded wins over Ballylanders and Mungret St Paul's respectively in round one three weeks ago.

Last year Galtee's championship run came to an end at the hands of 2024 winners Adare at the quarter-final stage in Kilmallock.

They were beaten 0-10 to 0-01 on a day where weather conditions proved testing. Galtee will be hoping to repeat the feat of getting out of the group again this year, and possibly go a step or two further than they did last year.

St Kieran's will also be looking to seek qualification from group two as they seek to build on last year's campaign which resulted in the west Limerick club preserving their senior status with a fourth placed finish in the group phase.

Tonight's clash will be the first of two games in the space of five days for both sides as they face a quick turnaround for round two of their championship endeavours.

Galtee face Mungret on Saturday night at Hospital Herbertstown GAA grounds, with a 7pm throw-in.

Meanwhile, St Kieran's face Ballylanders in Ballyagran with a throw-in of 7pm.
