Limerick U20 footballers target All-Ireland U20 ‘B’ final spot

THE LIMERICK U20 footballers are sixty minutes away from a place in this year's All-Ireland ‘B’ Championship final. Limerick play Monaghan in the All-Ireland U20 ‘B’ football championship semi-final on Sunday afternoon in Moorefield GAA Grounds, Kildare at 2pm.

John O'Grady's Limerick charges won the Munster ‘B’ Football Championship in style on April 1 when they defeated Waterford 3-14 to 0-13 to retain the John Kerins Memorial Cup. The Cup is dedicated to the memory of the former Cork All-Ireland winning goalkeeper, John Kerins,

Padraic Phelan, Tommy Ryan and Diarmuid Hynes impressed for Limerick in their Munster U20 ‘B’ football final victory scoring 3-3 between them.

In the round robin phase of the provincial championship Limerick defeated Waterford but lost to Clare and Tipperary. Last year, the Shannonsiders reached the same stage of the All-Ireland U20 ‘B’ championship where they came up short against Westmeath.

Last week, Limerick's opponents Monaghan were crowned Tier 2 Ulster champions. Monaghan defeated Fermanagh 4-17 to 1-22 in the Ulster final.

O'Grady is joined by Andrew Lane, Ray O'Flaherty, David Devane and Robert Hannan on the Limerick U20 football backroom team.
