THE Monaleen senior footballers took on the US GAA team on Tuesday evening at UL.
The American side are over in Ireland to compete in the All-Ireland Junior Football Championship semi-final where they will face London on Friday July 12 in Abbottstown at 7:30pm. This game will be shown live on Sport TG4 YouTube channel.
Most of their players are from Philadelphia, Boston, and Pittsburg, Detroit, Chicago and San Francisco.
The winner of that tie will face New York or Warrackshire in the All-Ireland Junior Football Final on July 14 in Croke Park at 1:30pm.
Monaleen have played two games in the Limerick SFC where the Castletroy based side have been defeated by Adare and St Kieran's.
Liam Lyons' side will be looking to get their championship campaign back on track against Mungret St Pauls in round three of Limerick SFC. Last year's county semi-finalists will finish their group campaign against Na Piarsaigh and Ballylanders.
There is currently break until the week of August 15 in the Limerick SFC with the club hurling championship getting underway.
