THE artwork of eight students with autism from Limerick Educate Together Secondary School is going on display to the public.
The students created this art through a new research method called Picturevoice, developed by primary school teacher Jarlath Healy.
With Picturevoice, students answer questions about their educational experiences through drawing.
“The purpose of the study was to give voice to an otherwise underrepresented cohort in society,” Jarlath explained.

Currently completing a Masters in Special Education at Mary Immaculate College, he created the method as part of his thesis while working with the students at Limerick Educate Together Secondary School.
The exhibition will take place on Saturday, September 6 at 11am.
The art will be displayed in An tSlí, Tara Building in Mary Immaculate College.
Jarlath described the event as “a hugely important opportunity to present these children's work in a position of strength, creativity and dignity”
