Deaths in Limerick: Monday, October 14, 2024

The death has occurred of Nancy Ryan (Nee Cooney), Newgarden, Lisnagry, Co. Limerick. March 29th 2026, peacefully at St. John’s Hospital, Limerick. 

Predeceased by her daughter Breda and husband Louie and predeceased recently by her sisters Patsy McGrath, Kathleen Heffernan and Sr. Margaret Mary. 

Sadly missed by her loving sons and daughters John, Ann, Paudie, Denis and Therese, son in law Sean Carey, daughters in law Lisa and Ethel, grandchildren Tristan, Nathan, Megan, Preston, Chloe, Slavitsa, Alison, Rachel, Jake, Jessica and Louis, sisters in law Lily Egan and Peggy Murray, brother in law Liam Heffernan,, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Rest in Peace

Reposing at Meehan’s Funeral Home, Castleconnell on Tuesday 31st March from 5.30 to 7.30 p.m. with removal to St. Joseph’s Church, Castleconnell. 

Requiem Mass on Wednesday 1st April at 1 p.m., which can be viewed on www.castleconnellparish.ie burial afterwards in Stradbally Cemetery, Castleconnell.

The death has occurred of Mary Hanley (née O Shea), Gibbonstown, Kilmallock, Limerick / Killala, Mayo.

Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at the residence of her daughter Maria, The Acres Killala, Co. Mayo.

Mary predeceased by her loving husband TJ.

Deeply regretted by her loving family, Sons Timothy, Gerard, Dermot, Brendan and Padraig. Daughters Caroline Maloney (Glenroe) and Maria Donohoe (Killala). Sisters Kathleen Connery (Kilmallock) and Breda Kearney (UK) Brother William (UK), grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, relatives, kind neighbours and friends.

May she rest in peace.

Reposing this Tuesday evening from 6pm at Daffy's funeral home, Kilmallock, followed by evening prayers at 7.30pm.

The funeral will arrive at SS Peter and Paul church Kilmallock on Wednesday 1st April for Requiem mass at 11am.

Burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Family flowers only with donations, if desired to the Mayo Community Palliative Care Team.

It is with deep sadness we announce the death of Breda Dillon, Good Shepherd Avenue and formerly of Pennywell Road, Limerick

On March 29th 2026, peacefully after a short illness, in the exceptional care of the staff at University Hospital Limerick.

Pre-deceased by parents Jack and Mary.

Sadly missed by heartbroken brothers Seán, Noel and Paul, nieces Bridget, Rebecca, Lucy and Ellen, grandnephews, grandnieces, great-grandnephew, great-grandniece, the Malone Family Mike, Ciarán, Neil and Conor, extended family, carers and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at Cross’s Funeral Home, Lower Gerald Griffin Street, Tuesday, March 31st, from 4pm to 5.30pm.

Funeral will arrive Wednesday, April 1st, at St. John's Cathedral, Cathedral Place, for Requiem Mass at 1.00pm. Funeral afterwards to Mount St. Lawrence (extension) Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Catherine (Kitty) Bourke (née O’Loughlin), Kilteragh, Dooradoyle and Mayorstone, Limerick.

March 28th 2026 peacefully in the loving Care of the staff in Athlunkard Nursing Home.

Beloved wife of the late Charlie and mother of the late Charlie B. Sadly missed by her loving daughters Martina, Claire and son Jonathan, sisters Peggy, Mary and brother Gus, sister-in-law Veronica, sons-in-law Jacques, Andy and daughter-in-law Anne, her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street on Sunday (5th April) from 4.30pm to 6pm. Funeral arriving at St. Munchin’s Church, Clancy Strand on Monday (6th April) for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by cremation service in Shannon Crematorium at 1pm.

House private please.

Family flowers only please, donations if desired to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland.
