RIP: Limerick deaths and funeral details, Friday, November 6, 2025

The death has occurred of Patrick (Paddy) Curtin

Of Coolroe, Kilmallock and Charleville, formerly of Garrienderk.

Paddy passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in the presence of his loving family at home on Thursday, November 6, 2025.

Beloved husband of Annette (née Guiney) and cherished father of Leah and Jamie.

Loving son of Donal and Helen and adored grandson of Chrissie.

Dear brother of Mary, Martin, Liz and Tony.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife, family mother-in-law Nancy, father-in-law Michael (Mike), sisters-in-law Michelle and Caroline, aunty Marion and uncle Pat, cousins, relatives, neighbours, friends, his work colleagues at Diesenvale, Charleville and his much loved dog Crean.

May Paddy rest in peace

Reposing in Hawe - O'Keeffe's Funeral Home (P56 YY15), Bakers Road, Charleville, on Sunday evening from 5:00pm to 7:00pm followed by prayers.

Reception into St John the Baptist Church, Athlacca on Monday morning for requiem Mass at 11:30am, after which Paddy will be laid to rest in the new cemetery, Athlacca.

House private, please.

Paddy was a lifelong Liverpool football club supporter.

"You'll never walk alone".

The family would like to thank all of the first responders, An Garda Síochána, air ambulance, Fr Chris O'Donnell and all who attended to Paddy on the day of his passing.

Of Templeglantine East, Templeglantine

On November 6, 2025, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the exceptional and tender care of Bertie’s medical team in the High Dependency Unit of Limerick University Hospital. Predeceased by his beloved wife Kathleen, his parents Margaret and Patrick, his brother Eugene and his baby sister Catherine. He will be sadly missed by his loving daughters Catherine and Mary, cousin Bertie (Leahy), sons-in-law Larry and Jason, his grandchildren Lucy, Dylan, Lilyrose and Holly, nephews Patrick, Eugene and Liam, his sisters-in-law Helen and Eileen, our dear family friend Betty (Sheehan), relatives and friends.

May his gentle soul rest in peace

Reposing at Harnett’s Funeral Home, The Square, Abbeyfeale (V94 AK44) on Sunday, November 9, from 5:00pm until 7.00pm.

Requiem Mass for Bertie will be celebrated in The Church of The Most Holy Trinity, Templeglantine on Monday, November 10, at 11am followed by interment in Reilig Íde Naofa, Abbeyfeale.

Of Ballinacurra Gardens, Ballinacurra

Late of Osmington Terrace, Thomandgate and formerly of CIE and Young Irelands/Commercials. Died on Friday, November 7, 2025, peacefully at home.

Predeceased by his parents David and Eileen, his siblings Jack, Brendan and Eileen. Mourned by his loving family, wife Mary, children, Aileen, Kevin and Emmet. His Grandchildren Meghan, Evan, Kieran, Kate and Eve and great grandchildren Jamie and Theo, his brother Des, Daughter in law Catherine, Son in law Dave. Brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street on Sunday, November 9, from 4.30pm to 6pm. Funeral arriving at St Joseph’s Church, O’ Connell Avenue on Monday November 10, for requiem Mass at 11.30am with burial afterwards in Castlemungret Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Elizabeth (Lizzie) Mackessy (née Quinlan)

Of Lackendarra, Anglesboro

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth (Lizzie) Mackessy (née Quinlan), London, and formerly of Lackendarra, Anglesboro, who passed away peacefully in The Whittington Hospital, London.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Patrick (Pa) Mackessy, sisters Maggie, Nellie and Mary, and brother Tommy.

Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter Helen, sons Johnny and Richard, sister Nora, son-in-law Seán, daughters-in-law Paula and Julie, grandchildren Tilly, Zoë, Darragh and Jamie, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Of St Munchin's Street, St Mary's Park and ex-Limerick Docks and Limerick City and County Council.

On November 6. 2025, peacefully, at University Hospital Limerick, surrounded by his loving family.

Philip is now reunited with his beloved wife Josephine (Cora)

Adored father of Christopher, Catherine, Philip and Christina.

Philip will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family, grandchildren Evan, Stuart, Shannon and Leona, great grandchildren Kayden, Kenzley, Karson, Alaya, Franco Jo, daughter-in-law Helen, son-in-law John, brothers Martin and Stephen, sister Elizabeth, nephews, nieces, other relatives, friends and neighbours.

Late of Sutton’s Coals and Bord Na Móna.

On November 6, 2025 peacefully at Athlunkard House Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband to his darling Mary (née Cronin). Dearly loved father of John, Sarah-Ellen, Rory and Mary-Kate (Hanley). Doting grandfather to Aoife-Rose, Ollie and Lily. Sadly missed by his loving son-in-law Eoghan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his sisters Ina and Elmary.

Reposing at St Nessan’s Church, Raheen on Sunday, November 9 from 4.30pm to 6pm. Requiem Mass will take place on Monday, November 10 at 12noon followed by burial in Castlemungret Cemetery.

Of Ballylanigan, Ballagh, Ashford

Tim passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by the wonderful staff in University Hospital Limerick on the November 6, 2025. Pre-deceased by his sisters Mary, Bridie and Margaret and brother Jerry. Deeply regretted by his loving family, sisters Eileen and Ita, and brother Ned, nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends. Tim spent the last few years in the loving care of St Catherine's Nursing Home.

May he rest in peace

Arriving at St Ita's Church, Ashford on Saturday, November 8, for prayers at 6pm. Requiem Mass is on Sunday, November 9, at 11am, with burial afterwards in Monagea Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Paddy Reidy.

Of Abbey Avenue, Corbally

Peacefully, in the company of Gerry, Joan and cousin Liz (Marrinan) and in the outstanding care of the staff at Milford Care Centre, on November 5, 2025.

Predeceased by his wife Ann (née Clune), his father James, mother Julia and brother Michael.

Brother of Biddy (O’Leary, Dublin) and uncle of John, Jim and Denis and their families.

Paddy will be fondly remembered by his great friends the Clune family (Quin, Co. Clare); Beatrice Clune; Gerry and Padraic O’Connell; Joan Clune; Timmy and Una Clune; Aidan and the late Liz Canny; and all their respective children.

Paddy will also be missed by his cousins, carers and neighbours.

Paddy will live long in the memories of his and Ann’s wide circle of friends in business and politics in Limerick and everyone he shared good times with in his beloved Kilkee.
