The death has occurred of Mary Byrne (née Walsh)

Of Colbert Park, Janesboro, Grange and Quilty, Clare

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother Mary Byrne (née Walsh) Colbert Park, Janesboro, Limerick and formerly of Lower Road, Grange, Kilmallock.

On July 25, 2025, peacefully, at University Hospital Limerick, in the presence of her loving family.

Beloved wife of the late Patrick.

Adored mother of Noreen Curtin, Ger Byrne, Diane Ahern, Hazel McDonnell and Robert Byrne.

Mary will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her adored grandchildren, great grandchild, sons-in-law Owen, Martin and Tommy, daughter-in-law Sharon and Gaetane Lee, sisters Vera and Ann, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, niece, other relatives, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Cross's Funeral Home, Gerald Griffin Street, Sunday, July 27, from 1.30pm to 3pm.

Funeral will arrive Monday, July 28, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Roxboro Road, for requiem Mass at 12pm, followed by private cremation.

Mary’s funeral cortége will pass the family residence at 11.30am on Monday to enable neighbours and friends to pay their respects.

No flowers please. Donations, if desired, to the Stroke Unit of University Hospital in Mary’s name.

Mary’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of ward 3B for their exceptional care and support of Mary.

Retired harbour-master: Limerick/Shannon Estuary. Formerly of Bray, Co. Wicklow.

At the great age of 95, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the patient and gentle care of the staff of Ennis hospital on Wednesday July 23.

Devoted husband of the late Mary (neé McDonnell). Lovingly remembered by his children; Eamon, Brian, Níall, Barry, Ailbhe, Orla, and Shane. Their spouses Christina, Protima, Laurence, Laura, and Frederikke. Grandchildren Aisling, Sorcha, Barry, Kealan, Fionn, Lulu, Frida, and Patrick, and great-grandchildren Mary and Paddy. Fondly remembered by his nephews, sister-in-law Rhoda and brother-in-law Johnny, extended family, friends, neighbours, and carers.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street on Sunday, July 27 from 4:30pm to 6pm. Funeral arriving at St Joseph’s Church, O’ Connell Avenue on Monday, July 28, for requiem Mass at 11.30am with burial afterwards in Castlemungret Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Bridget (Bibby) Gavin (née Galvin)

Of Vale Avenue, John Carew Park.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother Bridget (Bibby) Gavin (née Galvin) Vale Avenue, John Carew Park, Limerick and formerly of Gerald Griffin Street.

On July 25, 2025, peacefully, at St John's Hospital, in her 88th year, in the presence of her loving family.

Pre-deceased by son Eddie.

Deeply missed by her loving children Paul, Debbie and Darren, brothers Frankie and Tony, sister Mary, daughters-in-law Linda and Sharon, Debbie’s partner Denis, grandchildren, Natalie, Molly, Bonnie, Joe, Harry, Lee and God Daughter Yvonne, sisters-in-law Marie and Ann, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May she rest in peace

The death has occurred of Mary Horrigan (née Looby)

Of Singland Cresent, Garryowen and Pineview Gardens, Moyross. Originally of St. Patrick’s Avenue, Tipperary Town.

Passed away peacefully, at Beech Lodge Nursing Home, Bruree, on July 25, 2025.

Beloved wife of the late James.

Mary will be sadly missed by her loving family, children Declan, Mark, Kieran and Claire, grandchildren James, Sean, Sarah and Shane, daughters-in-law Carol and Anne, son-in-law John, brothers Michael, Eddie, Jack and Joe, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and wonderful friends.

Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate on Sunday, July 27, from 4.30pm to 6pm. Funeral arriving at St John’s Cathedral, on Monday, July 28, for requiem Mass at 11am.

Burial afterwards in Mount St Oliver Cemetery.
