Deaths in Limerick: Friday, June 30, 2023

The death has occurred of Edith Bermingham, Fermoy and late of Rathkeale, Co Limerick.

On 30 June 2023, peacefully at her home in the presence of her family. Edith, née Coffey, beloved wife of the late John and dear mother of Mary, Bill, Matthew, John, Paul, Eleanor and Eithne.

Greatly missed by her family, her sons- and daughters-in-law, grandchildren, relatives and friends. 

Reposing at Martin Neligan & Sons Funeral Home, The Old Train Station, Fermoy, P61K682 on Saturday, 1 July, from 5pm to 7.30pm followed by prayers. Removal from her home to St Patrick’s Church, Fermoy, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12 noon on Sunday, 2 July, followed by burial at Kilcrumper New Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Edmund Murnane, (affectionately known as Francie), late of Lough, Pallasgreen, Co. Limerick.

June 29 2023, peacefully, after an illness bravely borne with great dignity, at Tipperary University Hospital, Clonmel, and in the care of the Woodlands Nursing Home, Dundrum.

Predeceased by his parents Edmund and Catherine Murnane and brothers Timmy, Davey and PJ.

Deeply regretted by his heartbroken sister Mary (who was his carer) and his sister Teresa (Texas, USA), brother Peter, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, very kind neighbours, relatives and a large circle of friends. 

Reposing at Ryan & White's Funeral Home, Pallasgreen, Sunday evening from 5.30 pm until 7.30 pm. Arriving in St. John the Baptist Church, Nicker, Monday morning for Requiem Mass at 11.30 am with burial afterwards in Ballinaclough Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Fr. David T. O'Shea, Panama City Beach, Florida, Raheen & formerly Verona Esplanade, Limerick.

Fr. David died unexpectedly, in Panama City Beach, on 19 June 2023.

Pre-deceased by his parents Tom & Bridie, by his brother Tony, his half-brother Thomas & brother-in-law Jim Beary.

Sadly missed by his siblings Rita (Beary), Frank, Michael, Denise (Quilligan) & Gerard, sisters-in-law Denise, Mary, Geri & Elizabeth, nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews, other relatives and friends. 

Fr. David’s remains arrive at St. Nessan’s Church, Raheen, on Monday 3 July for Evening Prayer at 6pm. There will be an opportunity to sympathise after.

Requiem Mass will take place on Tuesday 4 July at 2pm followed by Burial in Castlemungret Cemetery, Mungret.

June 30th 2023, Peacefully at University Hospital Limerick.

Beloved wife of the late Tommy, dear mother to John, Dermot and Carol.

Very deeply regretted by her sorrowing family, son-in-law Trevor, sister Rita, nephew Dermot, relatives, kind neighbours and her friends. 

Reposing this Saturday evening at Daffy's Funeral Home in Croom from 6.30pm with removal at 7.30pm to the Holy Trinity Abbey Church, Adare. Funeral Mass on Sunday at 11.30am. Burial immediately afterwards in St Nicholas' Cemetery, Adare.

The death has occurred of Nancy Shanahan (née Brosnahan), Firhill, Parteen, Co. Clare and formerly of Drombanna, Co. Limerick.

June 30 2023 (peacefully) in the loving care of the Staff of Riverdale House Nursing Home, Blackwater, surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of the late Joe.

Very deeply regretted by her daughters Caroline and Nicole, sons Alan, Gary and Joe, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, sisters Rosie, Margaret, Esther and Betty, nephews, nieces, other relatives, friends and neighbours.

Predeceased by her siblings Bridget, Maureen, Billy and Jackie. 

Reposing at Cross's Funeral Home, Ballyneety, on Sunday, July 2, from 5pm to 7pm, followed by removal to St. Patrick's Church, Donoughmore.

Requiem Mass on Monday, July 3, at 11am, funeral afterwards to Donoughmore Cemetery.
