THREE suspects travelling in a stolen vehicle stole work tools from a van outside a resident’s home in a County Limerick village. However, the stolen vehicle was later recovered and the tools were located inside.
Sergeant Michelle O’Halloran, Crime Prevention Officer at Henry Street Garda Station stated:
"In the early hours of the 11th of November, three suspects travelling in a stolen vehicle entered the Clarina village area and were checking parked vehicles. They stole work tools from the rear of a van parked outside the owner’s home."

"The stolen vehicle was later recovered in Thomondgate, and thankfully the tools were located inside. Because the tools had been uniquely marked, we were able to reunite them with their rightful owner very quickly," added Sgt O'Halloran.
"This highlights the value of property marking—simple steps like engraving or marking items make identification and recovery far more likely in the event of theft."
