TRANSGENDER woman Barbie Kardashian, who told a trial she had wanted to “electrocute” the genitals of a female prisoner, was found not guilty by a jury of all charges.

Kardashian was acquitted at Limerick Circuit Criminal Court of three charges of threatening to kill or cause serious harm,  intending that they would believe the threat would be carried out, to a female prisoner and a female prison officer.

Judge Colin Daly had directed the jury to find the accused not guilty on a fourth charge.

Kardashian, who gave evidence in the witness box, told the court that she threatened a prison officer that she would “molest” and sexually assault her by “putting my hands between her legs and grabbing her vagina”.

It took the jury just over two and a half hours on Friday to reach verdicts of not guilty on all counts.

Kardashian was represented by Andrew Sexton SC, appearing with Yvonne Quinn BL, instructed by solicitor Julianne Kiely.

Kardashian told the court that she had wanted to make the two women “suffer” because she was upset and angry after rumours had circulated around the female wing of the prison that she had been leaving the showers dirty with body hair.

The prison officer said she was “terrified” of Kardashian after she threatened her.

The prison inmate had told the trial that she had accused Kardashian of leaving the showers dirty and that Kardashian then threatened to rape her. The prison inmate said she had to use “a hose” a number of times to remove “body hair” from the showers.

Kardashian said she left the showers clean, that hygiene was very important to her and she “didn’t want to smell”.

Kardashian said she was “upset and disappointed” at the rumours among the female prisoners.

Under cross examination from prosecution counsel John O’Sullivan, instructed by State Solicitor Padraig Mawe, Kardashian admitted threatening to rape the female prisoner with an object so that “she would not be able to have children”.

Mr O’Sullivan asked Kardashian “what object” would she use to rape the female prisoner.

“I wanted to use an electric rod, but that wasn’t available to me. I remember thinking I wanted to use the handle of a sweeping brush or a mop. I wanted to torture her sexually, I wanted to sexually electrocute her genitalia,” replied Kardashian.

Kardashian said she hated having male genitalia and “would use an object to commit rape”.

Kardashian admitted to making a threat to rape the female prisoner and making threats to “sexually assault” or “molest” the prison officer.

“I wanted revenge”,” Kardashian said.

Kardashian was born a male named Gabriel Alejandro Gentile. She legally changed her name by deed-poll to Barbie Kardashian and received a certificate from the State which recognised her as a female in 2020.

Kardashian looked surprised after the “not guilty” verdicts were read out.

"Yes. I’m so happy," she was overheard say.
