Countdown to the big reveal as Limerick Person of the Year is set to be announced at awards ceremony

LIMERICK’S Person of the Year for 2025 is to be revealed this Friday, with one of the 12 deserving recipients of the Limerick Person of the Month award being chosen for the prestigious honour.

Mick and Valerie Dolan of Limerick's world-famous live music venue Dolan's Warehouse will also be honoured with a lifetime achievement award. The award recognises their work and dedication to the entertainment and cultural life of Limerick.

The couple run Dolans, a traditional Irish pub located on the Dock Road in Limerick city, along with a restaurant and three live music venues (The Warehouse, Upstairs at Dolans and the Kasbah Social Club).

They also run hugely popular concerts at Live At The Big Top, Live At The Castle and Live At The Docklands. Dolans has played host to huge acts over the years such as Snow Patrol, The Coronas, Kasabian, The Darkness, Van Morrison and Christy Moore.

Lorcan Murray from RTÉ is set to once again MC the highly-anticipated event and will be going through the 12 nominees for Limerick Person of the Year 2025.

All 12 monthly winners highlight the great and good of Limerick and are from all ages, backgrounds and walks of life. There are writers, sports stars, musicians and healthcare workers in the esteemed group. The Limerick Person of the Year 2025 is to be revealed at the lunchtime event on Friday.

The Limerick Person of the Year awards are jointly sponsored by the Limerick Leader, media agency Southern and the Clayton Hotel.
