Limerick's seven senior clubs face crucial All-Ireland League fixtures this Saturday

THE second series of fixtures in the energia All-Ireland League take place this Saturday with Limerick sides looking to build on their return of four wins from the opening weekend.

In Division 1A, Young Munster, who picked up two bonus points in their opening weekend defeat away to Ballynahinch, host St Mary's College at Clifford Park on Saturday, 2.30pm.

The Limerick side trailed 28-7 at half-time against ‘Hinch but their second half fight back just came up short. Hubert Gilvary scored two tries for the Cookies and Shay McCarthy, Christian Foley and Paul Allen got one apiece. Kelvin Lenihan kicked four conversions.

In Division 1B, Garryowen face the long trip to Dub Lane to take on Queen's looking to build on their narrow opening weekend win over UCC. Garryowen had tries from Alan Fitzgerald, Max Clein, and Mark Fitzgerald. Tom Woods kicked two conversions, and Lachlan Stewart added a penalty for the Light Blues.

There are two Limerick sides competing in Division 2A of the energia All-Ireland League this season with both facing away fixtures this weekend.

Old Crescent, who began the regular season with an exciting 16-11 victory over Ballymena at Takumi Park, face a road trip to Tipp this Saturday as they tackle Cashel at Spafield.

Timmy Duggan kicked scored Crescent’s try against Ballymena, while Jeff Williams kicked the conversion and also added three penalties.

Also in Division 2A, Shannon who lost out 19-26 to Cashel last weekend, travel to Parsonstown to take on MU Barnhall this Saturday.

Josh Costello scored Shannon’s try. Cillian O’Connor converted and kicked three penalties and Neil Cronin also kicked a penalty for the Parish side.

In Division 2B, UL-Bohemian host Skerries at ULs North Campus on Saturday afternoon. UL-Bohs got their campaign off to a winning start when overcoming Navan RFC 33-21 at Balreask Old on Saturday. Oisin Fagan was UL-Bohs’ hero scoring two tries and four conversions. Joel Rowentree, Joe Johnson and Zac O’Loughlin also scored tries for the winners.

Meanwhile, in Division 2C, Thomond will look to make it back-to-back wins following their promotion from junior ranks when making the long trip to The Cloughan to face Ballyclare.

Thomond scored an impressive 29-22 bonus point win over Bective Rangers in their opening fixture at Fitzgerald Park. Suliano Mainavolau, Ryan O’Donovan Ahern, Riann O’Dwyer and Colin Slater were Thomond’s try scorers. Evan Cusack kicked three conversions and a penalty in Saturday's win.

Also in Division 2C, Bruff will look to bounce back from their away defeat to Midleton, when hosting Monkstown at Kilballyowen Park on Saturday last. Bruff had tries from Shane Duggan, Pa Maher and Andrew O’Byrne, while Paul Collins added the remaining points with the boot.

In the All-Ireland League Women's Division, UL-Bohemian, fresh from their win over Blackrock, host Railway Union in Annacotty, Saturday, 4pm.
