THE second round of the Limerick camogie championship took place over the weekend with Newcastle West and Bruff the only two teams that remain unbeaten in the senior championship.

Third round fixtures of the senior championship gets underway on Saturday, September 14 at 7pm.

It was an extremely tight affair between Newcastle West and Ahane with Newcastle West coming away with a 1-12 to 0-11 win with the 2023 champions keeping their back-to-back title dreams alive. Newcastle West will play Killeedy in the next round while Ahane face Adare.

Bruff and Monaleen also had a hugely entertaining clash against each other with Bruff clinching the one-point win, 2-14 to 3-10, to remain the second team in the senior championship that is still unbeaten. Bruff will be aiming to keep their winning theme going with their next fixture against Crecora.

Na Piarsaigh got their first win of the championship with a 3-8 to 1-8 win over Crecora while it was a draw between Killeedy and Adare in the final senior game of the weekend. Monaleen face off against Na Piarsaigh in the third round.

In the Griffins Coaches Intermediate Championship Croagh/Kilfinny are the only team with two victories from their opening round fixtures in the championship. They got the better of Murroe/Boher over the weekend with a 1-11 to 3-2 win. Croagh/Kilfinny will now face Cappamore in the third round which takes place on Sunday, September 15 at 11am.

They now take on Galbally in the next round while Patrickswell enjoy a weekend off. Granagh/Ballingarry enjoyed a huge 4-15 to 2-6 win over Cappamore and will face Murroe/Boher.
