Hozier becomes first Irish artist in 34 years to top US charts with Too Sweet

Bray singer-songwriter Hozier has made history, becoming the first Irish artist in decades to hit USA charts.

The 34-year-old made his mark on the world with his unique voice and Irish charm. 

His music primarily draws from folk, soul and blues, often using religious and literary themes and taking political or social justice stances. 

His new single, Too Sweet has catapulted him to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs chart, which makes him the first Irish artists to hold this in the USA in 34 years.

Hozier has shot up to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs chart, making him the first Irish artist to hold the top spot in the USA in 34 years.

The single, which is from his newest album Unheard dropped on March 22 and it has taken social media by storm, particularly TikTok. 

The song has gone viral on the platform much like his previous single Eat Your Young, which previously went viral upon it's release in 2023. 

Taking to Instagram, to thank his fans, the artist said: "A huge thank you for all the incredible support from around the world. #TooSweet has reached #1 in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and #1 for a second week in the UK and Ireland. I've been both thrilled and taken massively by surprise by such a staggering reaction. It means the world that you're enjoying this song so much. Thank you all so much."
