Fifty year memories - Power station overhaul

A HUGE overhaul job costing in the region of a quarter of a million pounds will be completed at Ardnacrusha Power Station by the end of this month. It is the first major work of its kind carried out at the Power Station since 1928 and involved three turbines, each generating 20,000 kilowatt units per hour.

It is the first major work of its kind carried out at the Power Station since 1928 and involved three turbines, each generating 20,000 kilowatt units per hour.

The job was undertaken last summer by the local staff, assisted by two German technicians from Siemen Schuckert.
