IT was a difficult night for Pike Rovers. Manager Robbie Williams is still proud of his players and what they achieved this year in the FAI Cup.
“It was always going to be a tough night. We're a month into our pre-season and the Treaty boys are at the end of the season. The fitness levels were always going to take it's toll and conceeding so early aswell, two sloppy goals put us on the backfoot straight away.
Our bread and butter next week is against Neenagh in the league, coming up against Treaty is just a privilege to play in these stadiums for my boys. They're League of Ireland and they're a big step up above junior football. I'm proud of the boys, they stuck at it and we move on.”
Pike Rovers will look to regroup after their heavy defeat. Pike will be back in action next week in the Limerick & District League against Neenagh. The Limerick club can take massive positives from reaching the last 16 of the FAI Cup and no doubt this experience will stand to them.
After the game, Leader Sport caught up with Pike Rovers manager Robbie Williams.
