In the touching announcement on Saturday, Niamh said their son was named after both of their fathers and weighed a very healthy 8lbs and 1 ounce.

They shared the post with the caption: “Welcome Seán Óg Reid Named after both our fathers Born 11.12.2025 ~ 8lbs 01oz.”

Niamh, originally from the Ennis Road in Limerick city, included a number of dotey photos of her and TJ with Seán Óg, his sibling Harper wearing a top with the words "Big sister" and an adorable one of TJ, Harper and Seán Óg in a buggy leaving the hospital.

Niamh, a lifestyle creator who loves fashion, beauty and fitness, married the Kilkenny hurling legend in the picturesque village of Adare in 2021.

The post on Instagram has got 25,000 "likes" and almost 1,000 comments to date.

Fashion designer and influencer Sinead O’Brien, also from Limerick, was one of those to respond, writing "Amazing, huge congrats" with five red heart emojis under the couple’s post.

Hurling supporters outside of Kilkenny will be hoping that Seán Óg gives daddy lots of sleepless nights as TJ Reid commences League action in the coming weeks and goes for his eighth All-Ireland medal in 2026.
