LIMERICK man Charlie Barry is set to make his Davis Cup debut for Ireland in this weekend's World Group II play-off tie with Syria at the University of Limerick.
Twenty four-year-old Barry will follow in the footsteps of his older brother Sam when playing in the World Group II play-off tie at UL this Saturday and Sunday. Play, featuring two singles matches, starts at 12noon on Saturday and at 11am on Sunday when the action will consist of a doubles match and two singles.
Charlie Barry says he first picked up a tennis racket when he was only three or four years of age and completely fell in love with the sport while playing at his local club, Limerick Lawn Tennis Club.

Barry, who attended Ardscoil Ris up to Junior Cert, then moved to Spain and enrolled in Kilroy College, an online/home school institution.
Barry later studied at Tulane University in New Orleans where he graduated with a Degree in Marketing.
The exciting tennis player completed an MBA at the University of Memphis. After impressing in NCAA tennis, Barry turned professional in January 2025.
The Limerick man won four professional events at ITF level in 2025 and started this year by winning another title.
