MOTORISTS traveling on the Limerick/Cork border are being advised they will face further disruption this Sunday night.
A major operation to transport an 'exceptional abnormal load' is set to continue until the early hours on Monday morning.
On Saturday night, a section of the N20 between Croom and Charleville, was closed to traffic as a large grid transformer was transported under garda escort from Limerick Docks to a location close to Ballyhea in North Cork.
Cork County Council says the L5530 at Ballyhea will be closed from 8pm on Sunday until 5am on Monday to facilitate the second night of the operation as the transformer makes its way to the Ballyroe Solar Farm.
While diversions will be in place, local access will be maintained where possible. Traffic on the L5529 will also be impacted.

Additional engineering works have been carried out at a number of locations along the route to facilitate the movement of the slow-moving convoy.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for journeys, comply with diversion signage, and follow instructions from gardaí during the operation.

Both Cork County Council and Limerick City and County Council have thanked the public for their cooperation over the weekend.
