"We tried to go until the end. I think we did as good as we could. I think Ballygunner will get a lot from it aswell as might other teams. The regret is, there was opportunities there" said Doon manager Derek McGrath.
Ballygunner produced a clincical second half performance to narrowly defeat Doon in the Munster senior hurling championship quarter-final on Sunday evening at the TUS Gaelic Grounds. Doon's Jack Ryan had a terrific goal scoring opportunity in the second half but his shot was excellently saved by Ballygunner shotstopper Stephen O'Keefe.
Doon's 2024 season has now came to end but the east Limerick side will look back on this year with a sense of pride.
