AHANE's Dan Morrissey was relieved that his side "got over the line" in the opening game of the Bons Secours Hospital County Senior Hurling Championship after a narrow one-point victory over Mungret St Paul's in Claughan over the weekend.
The star Limerick back was solid in defence for his club team who gained a vital two points on the championship board before facing another stern test in Na Piarsaigh in next weekends round two fixture.
Speaking after the win over Mungret Dan went on to say: "I think we are just glad to get over the line and you always want to get off to a good start, this championship is so competitive it's nice to have two points on the board. Last year we won our first game as well but failed to win the rest of them so this year we want to try and improve this season, it will be a serious game against Na Piarsaigh everyone knows how good they are but we are well up for it."
