WATCH: Ballybrown hoping to put injury blows behind them and get off to winning ways in hurling championship

Ballybrown have gone through a tough league campaign but are aiming for success in this year's championship

BALLYBROWN are aiming to put their injury woes behind them after a tough league campaign and start off on the right foot in this year's Bons Secours Hospital County Senior B Hurling Championship. The side take on Monaleen in their opening game of the championship in Fedamore on Saturday evening at 7pm.

Andrew Cliffe spoke at the launch of the championship about how the team has battled with injuries and retirements leading them to play lots of their up and coming stars.

"We had a tough league through injuries and retirements so we are in a small bit of transition period with younger lads coming up through the ranks. They got an opportunity to get some playing time under their belts during the league so hopefully that will stand to them now in championship. It's vital for us to get a win in the opening round just to settle the team and try push on from there then."
