WATCH: Ahane hoping to use 'buzz' around the club to propel them forward in senior hurling championship

After losing their East League final to Murroe Boher, Ahane area eager to get back onto the pitch for championship

AHANE GAA club are aiming to use the "buzz" around the club to push them forward in this year's Bons Secours Hospital County Senior Hurling Championship.

Speaking at the launch of the hurling championship Ciaran Barry spoke about the disappointment of losing the East League final to Murroe Boher in the final minutes and the buzz around the club with the return of their county stars.

"We were obviously disappointed to lose out in the league final but we want to bounce back from that now in the championship. We have Mungret St Paul's up first and they will be a big test for us. I suppose there is a good buzz around the club, especially after the Tom and Dan Morrissey came back to us after the county set-up. It would have been fantastic for them to be in an another All-Ireland final, but having them back a few weeks early has been a game changer for us."

Ahane take on Mungret in the opening round of the championship on Saturday evening at 7pm in Claughan GAA.
