KILMALLOCK'S senior hurlers are ready for the challenge of championship which gets underway this Thursday evening at 7pm in the TUS Gaelic Grounds where they will take on Doon.
Speaking at the launch of the senior hurling club championship Dan Joy from the Kilmallock club touched on the disappointment of losing to Na Piarsaigh in the league final and the eagerness of the squad to get going with championship.
"The league acted as a great way to give some of the younger lads a taste of senior hurling. We were obviously disappointed with the league loss to Na Piarsaigh but we want to drive on now for championship.
"We are all aware of the threat Doon pose now in the first round but we are confident within ourselves and the return of the county players has definitely helped the intensity at training."
