WATCH: Limerick company DSM securing documents and data

Smart company is supported by the Limerick Local Enterprise Office

THE latest in our ongoing series on businesses that are supported by Limerick Local Enterprise sees us this week happen across a really interesting Annacotty-based operation that stores and manages hard copy and digital data for a range of businesses and organisations across the region and nation.

DSM has for over 20 years now been providing not alone a secure space for this hard-copy and, more lately, digital data but it does so in a way that enables the owners access their data quickly if required, within as little as two hours.

They have also expanded their services beyond secure storage to now include shredding, scanning and records management consultancy.

Just before Christmas the company won ‘Business All-Star’ accreditation, which is open to all Irish SMEs, from The Business All-Star Foundation, reflecting the progress of the company.

As MD and co-founder Wendy Ryan states: “When we set up the company, in the beginning. the primary reason that people wanted us to store was related to space. But over the 20 years that we've been in business that has changed completely. Now companies want us to bring their documents here to protect them on their behalf. Very often these will be critical documents and to ensure that they are continuously available to them as required.”

The company started off with 6,000 sq ft of premises, no boxes, two employees and one van. Today they have 24,000 sq ft, 95,000 boxes stored, 11 employees and four vans on the road continuously.
