THE SECOND seat in City West has been won by Patrickswell man, Cllr Daniel McSweeney, who has seen his vote significantly increase from 2019.
Cllr McSweeney, who is 25, secured a first preference vote of 1,725 - almost trebling his haul from 2019.
"I didn't expect to poll poll so well across City West and it's a testament I think to the work that I have carried out. I want to thank all the people of City West who put their faith in me," he said.

He says there is an exciting five years ahead, with the election of the directly elected mayor in Limerick.
Cllr McSweeney paid tribute to his supporter base across City West.
"Without their support, I would not be standing here this evening," he said.
The Fine Gael man was elected alongside his running mate, Cllr Daniel Butler, who topped the poll with 2,233 votes.
Following the first count declaration, the vote in City West has been adjourned for the night.
At 10am on Sunday, Cllr McSweeney's surplus of 205, and Cllr Butler's surplus of 713 will be distributed.
