WATCH: Irish act for Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023 chosen after nail-biting final

This year’s Irish representative was chosen by public vote, with Donegal's Jessica McKean topping the polls

Donegal and Ireland’s Junior Eurovision entrant will be singing her song ‘Aisling’ at this year’s contest in Nice, France, next month.

After a nail-biting final on TG4’s Junior Eurovision Éire, this year’s Irish representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023 was chosen by public vote, with St Johnston’s Jessica McKean topping the polls. ‘Aisling’ was written by Niall Mooney and his team. 

Jessica is the youngest Irish representative to date. The 10-year-old won her first Feis competition at only three years of age and is really excited to make her country proud.

The 21st Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place on November 26, in Nice, France and will be broadcast live on TG4.

Junior Eurovision is produced by Adare Productions for TG4 and is presented by Louise Cantillon and Darragh Ó Caoimh, along with judges Niamh Ní Chróinín and Aindriú de Paor and guest judges including, Niamh Kavanagh, Brooke Scullion, Brian Kennedy, Ryan O’ Shaughnessy, Conor O’Donohoe and Mickey Joe Harte.
