Limerick City and County Council says access will be maintained for local residents and emergency services

MOTORISTS and road users on the northside of Limerick city are being advised of potential delays due to a three-week road closure.

Beginning from this Monday, September 7 and continuing until Monday September 28, a 25 metre section of road at Stenson Park in Farranshone Beg will subject to a 24-hour closure.

In a public notice, the local authority says the closure will facilitate junction works that will tie the local street into a new road overlay.

Drivers are being encouraged to follow diversions along Glenview Gardens, to Clareview Avenue, and to Belfield Court.

Limerick City and County Council have assured that access for pedestrians, residents, and emergency services will be accommodated at all times

Diversions will be clearly sign posted, and appropriate barriers and “Road Closed” signs will be installed.

Limerick City and County Council has expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to residents and commuters, thanking the public in advance for their patience and cooperation during the construction phase.
