LIMERICK boxer Paddy Donovan impressed as he scored a knockout win over Tyrone McKenna in Croke Park on Saturday.

On the undercard of Katie Taylor's farewell fight at GAA HQ, McKenna was forced to quit in the fourth round as the ringside doctor intervened.

Despite a nervy opening round, Donovan quickly found himself in a position of dominance against his old friend and former housemate.

After landing a number of heavy shots, McKenna had a nasty-looking cut on his eye.

Once the referee brought this to the attention of the ringside doc, the fight was called off and Donovan had his arm raised as the victor.
