Treaty United Women aim to finish season as history makers

The Treaty United Women’s side will finish their 2026 SSE Airtricity Premier Division season as home to DLR Waves on this evening, with a kick-off time of 5pm.
Should Treaty avoid defeat against their Dublin-based opponents this evening, they will better their highest-ever accumulated points tally in the Premier Division.
That tally was achieved last season under the guidance, for the most part, of Sean Russell, who resigned from the club with two rounds of the 2025 season remaining.
The Lucan native guided Treaty to an eight place finish as well as an FAI Cup semi-final appearance.
Russell’s successor and current manager Laurie Ryan will have the chance to better that Premier Division feat with a win or indeed a draw this evening.
Treaty will be looking to back-to-back wins following last week’s win over provincial neighbours Waterford.
Goals from Katie Lawlee, Honor Mulvihill and Caroline Penner in the final ten minutes ensured Treaty all three points in a remarkable comeback win.
Speaking to Treaty United Media after the match, manager Ryan was pleased with the victory. “Really happy to get the win. Pushing us up on points in our goal at the minute. Disappointed to concede as I thought we were well on top in the first-half.
“We weren’t as sharp as we would have liked but a couple of tactical changes and substitutions made a difference and we were able to push on.
“All we have to do now is look after ourselves and make sure that we perform. DLR are a really good team, they’re really difficult to break down and we can’t go into it under any illusions.”
