Family members keep Scarlett and Jason at the forefront of their minds on pilgrimage to Italy
PRAYERS have been said for the late Scarlett Faulkner by family members on a pilgrimage to Italy.
Ms Faulkner, a 29-year-old mother-of-one from Longpavement, Limerick city, was allegedly attacked at the R494 Birdhill, County Tipperary, on Saturday, March 21. She died in hospital three weeks later.
Among those on the pilgrimage are Josephine (Joanne) Duffy, the partner of Scarlett's brother Thomas, Josephine’s sister Aisling and other family members.
During their trip to Italy they followed in the footsteps of Saint Francis of Assisi, visited the tomb of Blessed Carlo Acutis - a teenager known as the "patron saint of the Internet” and went to the Vatican.
Joanne told Limerick Live this Friday from Italy that they prayed for Scarlett and her Scarlett’s late brother Jason, who died just days after her funeral.
“We prayed she’s at peace and her big brother Jason is at peace also and we want them to help us through what is to come.
“We pray for all the family’s strength and courage and God will bring the family peace,” said Josephine.
Aisling and Josephine sat together and prayed for everyone who asked them to remember them.
“Your worries, your wishes, your health, your happiness, peace and better days ahead. For your families, for those you’re missing and for the things you’re carrying that nobody knows about. We kept you all in our prayers,” said the sisters.
