Super Blues face south east task in final away fixture of the season

THE Treaty United Women’s side will look to continue their strong finish to the season when they make the short trip to the south-east to face Munster neighbours Waterford FC in their final away tie of the season this afternoon at 3pm.
Laurie Ryan’s charges will be looking to build on their 1-1 draw with fifth place Sligo Rovers at The Showgrounds last time out.
Treaty Academy prospect Emma Jones was in superb form between the posts for Laurie Ryan’s charges, producing a string of important saves to keep a potent Sligo attack at bay and ensure the Shannonsiders returned from the north-west with a share of the spoils.
It was Emma Oliphant who got Treaty back on level terms in the 68th minute after Gracie Dunaway had given the hosts the lead five minutes into the second half.
Treaty currently occupy seventh position in the Premier Division table on 30 points.
A win for the Super Blues on Saturday evening could see them rise to as high as fifth in the table, leap-frogging both Wexford and Sligo Rovers in what could be Treaty’s highest ever league finish.
Treaty will be hoping to eclipse the reverse fixture between the sides earlier this season at the Markets Field.
Goals from Ciara Breslin (2) and Kate Jones secured a 3-0 win for the hosts back in March.
On the international front, Treaty United’s Madison McGuane, Ciara Breslin, Aibhlinn Cotter and Kate Jones all played their part in securing a 7-0 win for the Ireland U19 side against Georgia last week.
McGuane captained the Girls in Green whilst Ciara Breslin netted a brace.
Kate Jones also found herself on the scoresheet with a wonderful strike.
