Lowry reveals Limerick celebration plans after stunning Irish Open win
Shane Lowry won the Amgen Irish Open by an incredible 11 shots at Trump International in Doonbeg
SHANE Lowry has revealed that he will celebrate his exceptional win at the Amgen Irish Open at Limerick’s Adare Manor this Sunday evening.
The Offaly man stated that he will be part of a group of European players invited to play at the stunning venue that will host the 2027 Ryder Cup on Monday following his 11 shot win in Doonbeg.
Lowry bagged his second ever Irish Open in impressive fashion with a nerveless display in the fourth and final round to blitz the field.
“I’ve got to go to Adare Manor tonight,” he told RTÉ after the win. “We have a Ryder Cup practice tomorrow and then to London tomorrow night. No rest for the wicked, back to work.”
Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald revealed last week that he had asked a selection of players to visit the Adare Manor course and with qualification for the event now underway, the race is on to make the team for the huge event in Limerick next year.
Lowry, who sank the winning put to earn victory for Europe at Bethpage Black last year, will hope he can back this stunning win up as he bids to play in his fourth Ryder Cup.
