THE focus is on Group 2 of the Whitebox Senior Hurling Championship on Friday with two big games down for decision.

Depending on how the results fall, Kildimo-Pallaskenry could find themselves relegated to the Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship by the end of the night.

They take on Garryspillane in what promises to be an intense encounter in Ballyagran.

Throw in is 6.30pm.

For the Bouncers, they also know defeat pulls them into a relegation dogfight. Victory would cement their senior status for next year.

The other game in the group tonight is at 7.45pm under the lights of Mick Neville Park.

Mungret-St Pauls can book their place in the quarter-finals if they defeat Newcastle West. The Magpies secured a first win in the SHC in 38 years last week and are looking to back that up. Should they pick up the two points, and Kildimo-Pallaskenry lose in the earlier game, KP will be relegated.

Both games are streamed live on Limerick GAA TV.

There are also two games taking place in the Lyons of Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship, with both games throwing in at 6.15pm.

In Knocklong, Blackrock meet Effin. The south Limerick neighbours played out a thriller last season with both Paddy O’Donovan and Paudie Leahy scoring hat-tricks as Effin emerged 3-20 to 4-15 winners.

While the Rockies are currently in the top four, Effin have played a game less and will be very much back in semi-final picture with a win.

The other games sees Glenroe make the short trip to Kilfinane to take on Bruff.

The Stars come into the game on a high after their comeback win over Dromin-Athlacca last time out.

In the Intermediate Hurling Championship, there is a top-of-the-table clash in Group 1 as leaders Feenagh-Kilmeedy can book a spot in the semi-final as group winners when they take on Cappamore.
